Monday morning excitement…
A few minutes ago, I went out to the coffee truck that visits our office each day and found everyone (well, not everyone, just the people that were outside) staring up at a tree across the street. A young bald eagle (head not yet white) had decided to take a rest stop in a big pine tree. Its wings were sort of halfway spread like it wasn’t sure of it balance. Some city workers that were trimming trees along the street were taking a break to watch the action and one of the guys took a camera up in their cherry picker to snap some birds eye level photos. This eagle might be the offspring of the two adult bald eagles I spotted in the park next to our office on my way home a few weeks ago. Apparently there is a nesting site on Ross Island (1/2 mile downriver towards downtown) that the pair has been using for a few years.
