Oregon Sunshine
Ok, ok, ok. I admit it. It rains a lot in Oregon! According to a story on OPB last week it had rained 53 of the last 60 days. Some of that has been the gentle sprinkles that Portlanders euphemistically call "Oregon Sunshine", but some of it has also been in the form of good old fashioned Midwestern thunder showers. My students are totally intrigued by thunder and lightening--like they've never seen it before. The positive spin on the weather is that it has almost averted the drought conditions that they were worried about for eastern Oregon this summer.
